DMT (Changa)

Age: 24
Weight: 125 lbs
Dosage: 1 bowl, smoked
Setting: My house

Preface: I tried DMT several times, though none of the experiences were particularly noteworthy. Just a mild psychedelia, visuals begin to creep in, it builds like a plane ready for takeoff, just for a minute, then- the engines sputter, it brakes on the runway and rolls to a stop, everything’s faded back to baseline. I mostly attribute this to user error in consumption/a baseline tolerance. I’ve tried it sandwiched in bowls of cannabis, in lightbulb vaporizers, digital vaporizers, dab rigs, a homemade “machine”, all of which yielded subpar results. Well I had come across Changa (DMT infused MAOI-containing plant matter (Typically B. caapi but can be others) which can be smoked from a bowl with regular smoking technique, fairly idiot-proof.
The setting was sitting on my bed in total darkness and silence, save for ambient city noise. I did not keep rigorous timestamps for this experience. It followed a narrative with a fairly uniform intensity throughout.
When I was ready, I lit the bowl- the plant material smoldered but was quickly smothered by the DMT, bubbling and sizzling as it melted. I held each hit in for 10-30 seconds, but the smoke was harsh and it was difficult not to cough it out. First hit, felt nothing, second hit, felt nothing, third hit (a big one), I began to feel a little different, flashes in the darkness beyond my usual HPPD, a sense of lightheadedness and unease, the tension, the energy, it all built up. There was now a little nest built, a crystalline cherry encrusted with embers of plant material. Each hit felt like it was making my body lighter, a stimulating shot of helium through my veins, I perked up as it crept up on me, my extremities tingling with excitement. It felt like rain falling on my face, taking me apart bit by bit. The bowl was finished and the ambient sounds around me had coalesced to a flanging buzzing, steadily increasing in pitch and frequency. I lied down on the bed as the visuals coalesced into a great radiant form, pulsing with concentric striations. I closed my eyes and prepared for what was to come.
There was no plunge, not so much of a rush as a gentle stream, continuing at a consistent intensity for what I would gauge was about 3 or 4 minutes. I began to worry again that it would not be enough, that I was undershooting again, I was wishing that I had more substance to undisputedly push me over the edge. Fiending and fiending, it will never die. I had been gently passing through a tunnel, ringed by tessellated rhombic forms, all flowing and pulsing with stripes. The visuals were nonetheless dim and indistinct, their details muddled in darkness.
I began to worry that my worry about not achieving an intense experience would interfere with me truly surrendering to the experience- what a contradiction! I must live in the moment, I must surrender to it, I am not trying to take it, it is trying to take me.
As my mind wandered, the stripes radiated faster, my heart pounded faster, my extremities crept numb. It felt like my veins were pulsing and throbbing, twitching under my skin, especially in my skull. The rushes of blood in my temples were pelting my neurons with shockwaves. My muscles tensed and I felt as though I was vibrating too fast to be contained in my body. As the stimulation and numbness build, I get a distinct sense of disintegrating, my body starting to vibrate away bit by bit.
The radiating forms became more distinct, larger, pointier, faster, more aggressive, the colors becoming more vibrant, the energy seizing through this, more and more of myself being sheared apart by this grand acceleration-
My room began to shrink around me, a strange 2-dimensional abstraction uselessly and annoying floating in my field of vision. I felt like I could see it with my eyes closed.
And then- this divine wind, so furiously taking apart everything, began to dismantle my head. It felt like the back of it had exploded into the wall behind me, which suddenly gave way to a great inky blue void, an abyssal cavity dotted with multicolored constellations. My brain was a tornado spinning deeper and deeper into the abyss, all I could do was lie there and feel the pieces orbit in a great tunnel before coming apart and disintegrating into the void.
I feel like I could see my room from every possible angle at once as it shrunk down to a little island floating in space, meaningless and frail, just like me, shrinking away and leaving oozing tracers behind it as it faded.
My consciousness, freed from my skull, drifted into the space along with all the rubble of the rest of my mind, asteroids orbiting a mysterious light in the distance that I was slowly being drawn to.
Upon my arrival I was greeted with a complex of floating orbiting islands, all of them overlaid with shiny chrome and gold. Temples with gleaming coiled columns, sweeping marbled surfaces, and swift dances of light across their graces. Silver gildings dripped from their interstices like honey from a beehive. Their garden was overcome with sprites of phasing whistling and whooping noises, contorting themselves into my ears, constructed from the ambient sounds around me
My field of ‘vision’ is suddenly taken again by radiating forms choking in from the edges, ringed with a white aura. The visuals turn into great 3-dimensional polygons like snowflakes crusted in pyramids, great and green and reminiscent of goat heads- Suddenly a flash.
A large glyph appears right in the center of my vision, remaining dead center no matter where my eyes track, it is roughly in the shape of Polynesian tribal designs with sweeping tangled forms and sharp edges. Four chains of smaller similar patterns extend outwards in the four cardinal directions. It is stark plain white but is ringed in a colorful aura that is always changing shades. It is constantly self-transforming. It is surrounded by pixelated images of sky and clouds.
There is a sudden sense of presence. The glyph is flashing and transforming directly in response to my sentience, signaling, flaring, transmitting- it is not language or speech, it is thoughts and essences planted directly into my head accompanied by a persistent sense of scratching and warbling. Voices spoken from broken entanglements. It greeted me, let me know through cryptic terms that it would be my liaison in this realm. It planted thoughts to that essence.
I still felt like I was zooming through a tunnel, my head disintegrating behind me. The sense of motion was persistent.  Beautiful images blossomed as I sunk deeper and deeper into a glassy still pool with flower petals floating upon it, radiant red crystals and flourishing fronds tipped with iridescent dewdrops, rushing through the glory of this glowing garden, my thoughts were chaining freely into one another, touched by flower buds, dancing gracefully like a figure skater. For my sake the glyph generated an image of a beautiful forest painted in brush strokes with a frozen pond where my thoughts could wander and glide and gracefully dance with one another, entirely uninhibited.
Then, unexpectedly, it offered me the ability to generate images- to hand me the controls for a second. This was a shock, we had hardly met. In hallucinatory explorations, I have always held controlled image generation as a lofty goal, and perhaps it read my thoughts, but I was stunned and honored to receive the offer any way. I meditated to try and clear my mind, brush all the forms and colors out of the way, until eventually I had a blank black canvas.
I tried to think of a coherent image, but I couldn't, I didn’t even know where to begin to what to make, this was all so exciting. My sight lines generated showers of sparks and bursts of color everywhere they landed. This all feels like a dream, I wonder if I’ll remember it, I’m having trouble piecing together a coherent form.
This all feels like a dream.
Will I remember any of this?
I suddenly snap back, I am not in the same place. It appears I’ve become distracted, that I’ve exited out of this generational program. I felt so honored to have been given the reins but it appears I have failed. The glyph matter-of-factly transmits to me that I failed because I got distracted. That I have to focus, while surrendering myself to the experience. It leaves me alone to ruminate more.
I begin to think of the report I want to write about this and realized I am becoming concerned with remembering and recording this experience, to the point where it’s interfering with the present live experience itself. I feel like I am trying to watch more memories while my arms are already completely full of memories. I envision myself inside a palace, armfuls of stones, trying to pick up another. It felt like trying to catch a waterfall with a butterfly net. A brief admonition: “Just surrender yourself, keep moving”.
And so I do- I feel what’s left of my physical body dissolve and come apart bit by bit, I surrender my head to the soundwaves generated by nothing and everything, they chew me apart, sparks and light are shooting off into infinity.
I begin to wonder about the glyph appearing to me so vividly, and in my deep thinking about it, it appears. I begin to wonder, are we friends? Are we on speaking terms? Or does it feel like I summoned it? It seems to be asking me why it is there, impatient, irritated. I indeed appear to have summoned it, but I have nothing to talk to or present to it, I made it come out here to gawk at it.
I sheepishly transmit the confession that I merely wished to witness it.
It seemed incensed at this frivolity.
The background turned a swirling flow of red and orange, the glyph turned to metal and rapidly exploded a series of arms outwards into an disc bearing down on me, composed of angular spiral arms in thorns, the shape reminiscent of a sonnenrad. White glowing teeth appeared at its epicenter, bearing the full terror of their form and gums at me. I felt spinning wheels of spikes trace across my existence, cutting up everything raging and flashing.
I seem to have angered it.
But it felt unreal, it didn't feel true, it felt like a façade. I transmitted to it that it SEEMED angry but didn't FEEL angry. Suddenly, its fury died, its energy faded. It admitted that it had just been messing with me, testing me? Did I display some sort of special sensitivity? It quickly bristled with spines again to humble me before dismissing itself. Here was floating alone again in a void, confused, manipulated, a forest of pillars covered in glyphs, with grand radiant canopies stretched between them.
This was a gentle place, serene like water dripping in a sunbeam in an abandoned building. It was a garden, graced with fountains and ivy climbing over the pillars, with flowers in bloom everywhere I looked. Memories cascaded like snow or pollen, coming to rest gently on and around me- memories of places I had grown up in, of my first psychedelic experiences as a teenager, of my childhood home, they all came back in stunning, pure nostalgia, like revisiting the places on a warm summer night. All of these places and memories were uninhabited, with placeholder phantoms standing in the place of the people who were otherwise present in those memories like wispy psychedelic mannequins. I began to experience a deep sentimentality, I began to think of my family, my parents, of being raised as a child.
I was stricken with worry about their fate amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. I began to project how I would feel if they were to pass from it, to empathize with that potential future trauma.
But I also quickly reminded myself that that wasn't real, that I can't predict the future, that there is no use to needlessly worry and feel afraid, and so I returned to the experience.
By now it had begun to feel like a movie, where even if I like it I still kinda wanted it to end soon. I felt that I had overstayed perhaps? Where had my liaison run off to? I was adrift, sitting in the backyard of the party while the lights and music muttered nearby. I opened my eyes, my room had a dense cloud of smoke hanging in it, tracing out beams of light from the windows. This does nothing to lessen the intensity, the distinct sense of rush and motion in my veins and nerves. There are a lot of triangles and spiky forms running across my vision leaving tracers like a glitching computer. I lie back and let out a long sigh. It feels like a cold breeze is gently blowing across my face, I feel like I am in the dappled light of a forest floor and like I am surrounded by a muted and luxuriously soft grass.
I look at the time- it is now about 30 minutes from when I began smoking. I put on music, it musters up a bit of synesthesia, playing out in residual colors, tracers, streams of neon polygons. I get up to open my window to let out the thick smoke and turn my lights back on. The glyph never even stopped in to say goodbye.
The next two hours of so in the night were an excited stimulation, I still felt energy pouring into my limbs and light visuals still danced in the corner of my eye. I felt blissful to come back into my comfortable room, to have had such an exhilarating experience.
The night faded into the same as any other night, the chemical receded from my neurons,
I missed it dearly, and I hope to visit again soon, there is still much that I need to learn.

3-FPM

Age: 24
Weight: 125 lbs
Dosage:
T0:00- 25 mg 3FPM intranasal
T1:30- 40 mg 3FPM Oral
T9:30- 30 mg Oral
T11:30- 15 mg intranasal
Setting: My house

Preface- Just another day in quarantine, I spent the day watching movies with a sick 14 day free trial for criterion and smoking weed. Nothing worth describing. I had been awake since 1 PM. I stayed up late watching Andrei Tarkovsky’s Stalker. I drank an energy drink and ate an edible beforehand, at around 1:30 AM, thinking it would hit at some point during the movie. The movie had finished and I still hadn’t felt it much, I figured my tolerance had just gotten higher. Around 5:30 AM I decided to go to bed. Unfortunately, and for some strange reason, the edible did not show its face until now. I was extremely stoned to the point where it felt like I had ingested psychedelics. My mind was racing and light visuals traced themselves out in the darkness of my predawn room. I tried to lay there and force myself to sleep, a bit irritated that my friend, weed, had been so late to its appointment. After about an hour of tossing and turning, as the sun rose, I realized sleep was futile. I didn’t want to sleep through the entire day though, so I decided just to power through and keep myself awake on 3-FPM until a reasonable bedtime the next day. I decide I will take my first dose when I actually start to feel tired. This ends up being around 10:30 AM.

T0:00- Cut out a 25 mg line and snort it. It stings quite a bit initially, not as bad as the intense explosive all-consuming pain of snorting a 2C-x but definitely enough to make me recoil and gather myself as a tear streams from my eye. The feeling passed entirely after about 3 minutes though and there was no lingering discomfort beyond the normal bitter drip.

T0:15- I was starting to get a bit drowsy but I’ve definitely woken up now. There is little presence of the drug beyond a sense of alertness and my fatigue clearing away like clouds before a blast of sunlight. I decide to play some Total War.

T0:20- The baseline alertness has been replaced with certain stimulation, its subtle but definitely there and highly functional. There is no tweakiness, no overstimulation or racing thoughts, there is none of the obsessiveness and compulsion that can arise with other stimulants, I feel warm and almost an elevated degree of sober. There is just the slightest noticeable increase in heart rate. I am engaged with the task at hand and having a lot of fun with it.

T1:15- Already feeling drowsy and exhausted again. This drug when snorted feels like a less euphoric coke with less rush. I decide I’m going to drop an oral dose on top, which usually lasts me much longer.

T1:30- After lazing around for a bit I weigh out a dose and dump the powder directly down my throat. It mostly bypasses my tongue but I still get a bit of bitterness. However it’s a slightly sweet bitterness that doesn’t make me gag and retch like the absolutely toxic flavor of many other chemicals. I would say its akin to an extremely bitter artificial sweetener. I lie down for a bit knowing that even if I doze off a little the chemical will jerk me awake.

T2:00- I am slightly more alert again, though physically I feel very tired and lying down feels very nice. I no longer feel like I am on the threshold of falling back asleep. I decide to watch Dr. Strangelove.

T2:40- It’s a good movie, funny and a bonified classic. When it began I felt like I had to be lying down on my soft bed but a sense of stimulation has slowly crept back in, building and building. I am now sitting upright, I have surpassed merely being alert and am definitely stimulated now. I am fidgeting a lot.

T4:00- The movie has ended, I can feel my heart racing in my chest and my breathing feels shallower. I feel a compulsion to move around a lot. It feels though that this is mostly physical stimulation, mentally I am mostly just very awake, the kind of long awakeness where my eyes feel shadowy and hollow as I gaze into things while unable to rest. I have no appetite even though I need to eat- I haven’t eaten anything since my dinner last night and I’ve been continuously awake since then. but I smoke a bit of cannabis and enough appetite sneaks in for me to eat some leftover noodles, though the pleasure of eating and the otherwise good tasting food fall on a deaf tongue. Eating good food brings me no joy, it just feels like a necessary task.

T6:00- I have mostly just been reading stuff on social media and talking to people and watching videos of competitive Super Smash Bros. Melee. I find myself being extremely verbose in my contact with others, writing out long detailed responses to everything. It feels like it takes 0 effort. I also try to finish another trip report, though I find this writing to be tedious and difficult. Time passes quickly, I hardly notice it leave.

T9:00- I have been playing Dynasty Warriors 3 for the last few hours, obsessively working on my task of getting 100% of the items in the game. I didn’t really feel exhausted or bored, I felt like I could’ve kept up the rather tedious task indefinitely even though it wasn’t particularly exciting. This reminds me of when I used to take 3-FPM before work (Usually 40-50 mg oral), and I could just whittle away at menial tasks without losing focus or energy for hours and hours. Despite the enhancement of mindless tasks, I have found it doesn’t do much to improve cognitive ability, intake, memory, or focus tasks without some tangible output and was ineffectual as a study drug. After hours of that however, I can feel the drug start to wear off and I begin to feel tired again. I decide to redose. I’m trying to decide whether or not I want to watch a movie.

T9:30- I take another 30 mg, oral again, dumped straight down my throat. I don’t really feel like the sleep deprivation has gotten to me yet. I’ve developed a headache, for which I take acetaminophen.

T11:00- I end up wasting more time watching more competitive smash. I feel that fresh sense of alertness again, though my body is slowly getting more and more exhausted and my mind begins to sizzle away into a stimulated daze, just energy but nowhere for it to go and no way for it to be used. The rest of the mechanisms in there have separated from the energy and it just sputters useless now as my mind fades to blank. I have been awake for about 30 hours now.

T11:30- I decide to cut myself one last booster dose of 15 mg to insufflate, just for fun. At this dose it really does feel like a calmer cocaine, without any of the desire to redose. I wasn’t getting tired yet but this definitely perks me up a little more.

T13:30- I decide I am going to finish reading the Manga Berserk- I had read up to all that had been produced in 2013 and hadn’t read any of what had come out since then. Berserk is one of my favorite pieces of media of any kind and I am excited to get back into it. I also decide to feed myself again, this time aided with a hit of cannabis from my gravity bong. The weed feels almost hallucinogenic as it pairs with the stimulation to draw out currents of iridescent visual snow, barely perceptible flashes of motion at the edges of my vision, flashing overlays on my field of vision. I eat more and it feels and tastes better this time but it still takes me a while to finish.

T16:30- I am going to get ready for bed. I don’t feel particularly exhausted however. I take 2 back to back gravity bong hits of weed and turn my lights off.

T16:40- I am now on 34 hours without sleep, and perhaps that has made things a little weird. As I browse my computer, I start to notice more aggressive visuals. The cursor on my computer jumps and twitches as I use it, flickering like it’s being hit with blasts of static. The visual snow becomes a whiteout, cascading down in curtains and disintegrating everything it passes in a mess of muted colors. There are waves and ripples of color travelling through my computer screen, and a vivid flashing image of twisting metal coils is overlaid over my entire field of vision for brief spates. There are lights in the dark spaces in my room, muted globs conforming to the vague shapes of objects in the darkness. Dark shadows and silhouettes in my window begin to shake and breathe and twitch, I almost expect them to start growing limbs and freely moving about. My heart is racing noticeably, but I otherwise just feel physically tired. The light from my computer screen crackles and flickers like a flame, and the ambient light coming through my window shifts in color and brightness, the shadows cast by it stretching and bending on their own. When I shut my computer and become completely immersed in darkness it is as though wires have been stretched across my vision and someone is plucking them.

T17:20- I have been aimlessly reading things on the internet, so much is so interesting right now. I fall into all sorts of holes of reading about various topics. As I type my keys seem to flee from my fingers, scuttering off like roaches in light, only to snap back into place. Damn I’m high.

T18:30- I realize that I am up at 5 AM again, fully alert and wide awake. I realize this is how I started, by staying up too late and figuring it wasn’t worth it to try to sleep. I decide it would probably be best to get some sleep so I dose ~2 mg of Flualprazolam sublingually from a propylene glycol solution, my usual unstoppable hypnotic. This has me asleep in about 20 minutes. I wake up feeling normal the next day, in the early afternoon.

Conclusion: I am not sure how I managed to achieve such powerful visuals at the tail end of this drawn out experience. I would guess it was a combination of my persistent HPPD, a fairly acute dose of cannabis, compounded effect from the stimulants, and lack of sleep. It was interesting to bring about, though it was kind of annoying to be stricken with that so late at night. I need to stop doing that. 3FPM is a delightful functional stimulant, I would consider it to be a more euphoric and giddy and sociable caffeine, generally subtle but definitely makes its presence known. I can imagine it could be a fun party drug if you did a bunch of bumps of it. Intranasal doses seem to lass for significantly less time than equivalent oral doses. In past experiences, the comedown from oral doses had me feeling fairly cranky and irritable, while the comedown from intranasal doses was very suddenly exhausting and usually just put me right to sleep.

4-HO-MALT

Age: 24
Weight: 125 lbs
Dosage: 40 mg oral in gel cap
Setting: Around the city, my house

T0:00- Dose taken while riding the subway. I ride it along the outdoor elevated portion towards its northern terminus. It’s a nice day out so I decide I will walk along the length of the elevated portion back to my house.

T0:30- The first notes of the experience start to bubble up- a bit of anxiety and light visuals. Interestingly enough there is no bodyload, which is usually the first note of any psychedelic experience for me. The opening salvo is always a pang of nausea and a visceral shock to my nerves, but that is noticeably absent.

T1:20- I’ve been walking for some time now. The whole street has a festive atmosphere with people blaring music out of amplifiers on the sidewalks and hanging out in the street in throngs, though this is a festival stricken by a severe opioid crisis and many of the people were seeking, dispensing, or administering their various highs. Police in mobile guard stands stood watch over the open market only to interfere if violence broke out. People twisted and faded in and out around me, circling into my sphere of existence as their voices flung and danced around me, shouts and mutters, some of them smoky and scraped and scarred, others booming and melodious. The sun is shining and beating down and people appear to be in good spirits, the energy coalescing into discrete blocks that drift around me as I walk. No one pays me any attention which is good because I do not know how well I would be able to interact with anyone right now. I feel strange and anxious and sweaty, but I don’t feel the anxiety in my gut. There is still no nausea or bodyload to note, the trip is well contained within my central nervous system. I feel giddy and jubilant like I am sailing with a strong headwind. Energy wells up inside of me, it’s a nice loose stimulation though and doesn’t bear the wound up tension that many other drugs can bring. Auditory effects are negligible beyond a more acute awareness of the space and direction of sounds, and an amplified sort of doppler effect as I move path stationary noises.
The visuals have set in more and more, they are mostly transparent overlays on everything else and are reminiscent of Mesoamerican glyphs, with intricate and well defined tangled forms, sinuous like serpents, with fronds and feathers blossoming at their apices. They carry a greenish tint but fade fairly easily into the environment.

T1:52- Bathed in smooth sparkling sunlight, the trip is drenched with euphoria and optimism. I feel like I can only think about happy things, that even the grim things I can think about are still touched with happiness and pleasantry. It feels like it’s a façade, it feels like happiness misplaced, naïve and wrong, though not as intensely or artificially as with empathogens. It is still the deep, profound euphoria that comes from psychedelics, but it feels odd and out of place. I don’t get that sense of wanting to proclaim my newfound pleasure or revel in it, rather is sits there matter of fact, like a bird watching me from a tree. Also odd and out of place is the continuing lack of nausea or any kind of bodyload. The streets become less crowded the further I walk and find myself becoming more absorbed in gazing at things, textured surfaces, the sky, tree branches, etc.
The visuals dance around as bas-reliefs on mottled surfaces, still reminiscent of flowers and serpents. My thoughts are racing, tearing their way through my baseline of apprehension and turning themselves towards the sun so they can bask in its light. It’s such a beautiful day and it feels as though there will be a beautiful tomorrow too.

T2:00- I have ended up walking around the older part of the city. I walked by the base of the great suspension bridge that spans the major river into another state. The piers are titans of stone blocks each as large as my bedroom, seeing this monument cast stark against the blue sky feels surreal, it feels like a vision or a shot of a movie. There is a subtle derealization carried with the sublime sense of aesthetics. Patterns weave their way out of the stone and drizzle from the sky, still writhing and entangling, still immaculately textured. I still feel elated, not overclocked with a stimulating euphoria, rather it is a peaceful sense of being exactly where I belong, of basking in the beauty of so much around me.

T2:17- The sun is setting now and its dyeing the sky with streaks of brilliant magenta. Ripples creep and crawl through the sky and dissolve into forms that twist into the lids of a thousand eyes, though it is barely perceptible. I am stopping to take a breather next to a park, I’m pleasantly sweaty and my body feels excellent from the light exercise. There is still miraculously little to no physical discomfort to report. Thoughts are stimulated but gentle. I set out for home. All of the buildings look particularly stark and powerful against the backdrop of the sky.

T3:00- I am back at my house now. I am alone in my room, smoking more weed. It causes the experience to bubble up a bit, though at this point I am mostly just riding on the afterglow. What remains of the trip is slight like dust bunnies in the corner. It is bereft of color and dancing light. I still feel chipper and energetic.

T5:00- Mostly back to baseline by this point.

T6:00- Definitely back to baseline.

Conclusion: 4-HO-MALT is one of the few psychedelics where my body does not react like I have been poisoned with something. None of the pangs of nausea or tension of visceral anxiety, none of that twisting discomfort that always rocks the comeups of my trips. I didn’t think it was possible. Otherwise this trip is pleasant, bubbly, and optimistic in the way a child is on a sunny day. Mostly in the realm of the cognitive, with the visuals being slight and lacking in vibrant colors, with a fairly generic tryptamine overlay of the flowing blossoming organic crossed with the sharp lines of the synthetic. It is a short sweet and light experience that might be a candidate for a good easy starter psychedelic for the curious but uninitiated. Not necessarily shallow, but also not with enough depth to cause panic or resounding problems. I would definitely be interested in exploring higher doses of this substance to see whether the manageable pleasantry of this substance eventually caps off and disintegrates.

4-HO-MiPT (Revisited)

Age: 24
Weight: 125 lbs
Dosage: 30 mg oral in gel cap
Setting: Around the city, my house

T0:00- Dose taken as I was clocking out of work. It is bitter cold outside, I decide I’m going to walk home, ~4 miles. I bundle up but the winter night manages to bite through all of my layers.

T0:32- Mostly feeling sick and uncomfortable. Cramps and tightness in my abdomen. A bit of a flighty twisty feeling in my walk.

T0:38- I’m jellylegged, shivering, and unwelcome inside of my own body. My sense of self feels like a membrane inside of my flesh, under great tension until it snaps, becoming twisted and misaligned, like a blanket twisted up inside of its cover. I feel like I’m choking on my guts as visuals begin to pulse and bleed in, a tangle of throbbing vines strangling their way into the edges of my vision, their grip tight and electric. My mind is roasting and sizzling, pumped with crackling vibration. My thoughts become loud and articulate, and my stream of thought sounds like conversation with some coherent 3rd person. I have been walking around the campus of an old expensive and highly prestigious college, towered over by the industrial hospital buildings at its fringes, blasting clouds of steam into the frigid night. I have to cross a highway exit ramp and a bridge over the expressway, the sound and the weight of the cars tearing around me is dazzling and terrifying, and their bestial roar of fire and metal reverberates around my mind and shakes my bones.
I am acutely aware of my flesh and blood, of its warmth and motion, the nerves shackling my limbs with electricity and the wetness of my sinew. Of the little exothermic reactions by billions of little enzymes and the heat that permeates my body from it. Despite the discomfort engendered by all of this I feel stimulated, pumped up and exhilarated. I want to walk onwards into winters maw.

T0:52- I am now across the river. I found a hole cut into a fence and have found a nice little hiding place, tucked under a bridge and next to freight tracks. A behemoth train is stopped there, and I sit in the dusty ballast to smoke some cannabis. There is activity above me on the bridge, and buzzing all around me on the roads, and in the buildings towering above too, but I take solace in knowing I am hidden away in the midst of it, invisible in my patch of dirt and gravel. I feel like a little night creature, like a raccoon or a cat, skulking around in the alleyways behind people’s houses, slipping away when detected. I feel mischievous and impish, like I am filled with a sardonic and hyperactive energy. I want to creep around in shadows forever.
The visuals are now all consuming, creeping in like time lapse videos of ferns unfurling their fronds, fanning out and blossoming, fractal and botanical, and flashing with stripes and scallops that oscillate between deep violets and lime greens and magentas and dull olives. The visuals trace paths through my field of vision like laser fast snails tearing their way through a layer of algae on aquarium glass, leaving neon tracers in their wake, it’s all so fast and chaotic and automatic and oddly organic and natural, yet at the same time utterly alien, the cookery of some trickster spirit from another world trying to imitate the replication and motion and energy in the depths of all living things.

T1:00- I am now walking into the heart of the city, I almost throw up several times while walking. Motion and cold seem to suppress the trip a bit, but when I stop moving it catches up with me. There is so much sound and it gets trapped in the tangled web of living pulsing breathing visuals, like dust caught in rivulets on a driveway. Everything is dragged around by the sensory experience. I feel playful and energetic and stimulated, like a little creature exploring somewhere new. I want to run into all the little alleyways and climb everything and run jump and play, but I restrain myself. It’s too cold to really get myself going anyways, though the trip has warmed me up enough inside that I could unzip my outer layers. I wish I could go swimming right now, it seems like a perfect way to expend this energy.

T1:45- The city is so bright and there are people walking around everywhere. I catch snippets of conversation when they walk past, catch their facial expressions in the hum of the perpetual daylight that lines the streets; rainbow tendrils sprout from my mind latch onto each person, trying to trace out their memories and what brought them to be here, in this moment. My brain feels like it’s feeling around the world with pseudopods, curious and inquisitive and flashing with muted color in the stale light of a frigid night. I sit down in a park and smoke some more, the world glowing and twinkling around me as the visuals continue to intertwine and dance and play across my field of vision. It’s hard to sit still for too long so I get up and continue walking home. I feel like a little creature borne from the sinews and energy of the structures around me, pulsing with the electricity of the jungle of wires that permeates every block, caked with the dirt I was sitting in and the braced into the timidity of the cold air.

T2:20- I’ve arrived home now. My ears are ringing and I can feel the blood rushing through my body as it adjusts to the sudden change of temperature. I take off most of my layers and bask in the warmth of my room, though my extremities are still tight and frosty. As I lie still and take stock of my surroundings, the trip that had shrunk from the cold winter night now blossoms inside of me, unrestrained. Visuals pulse and breathe into everything now, radiating heat from their newfound energy. I am cooking in their tangle, they tear through me and ensnare my organs. I still feel a measure of nausea and discomfort but it is now at least partially masked by a pleasant warm tingling body buzz that travels up and down me. I feel dazed and burned out and disoriented, my thoughts dance and chase each other around and I can’t quite keep track of them, so I content myself with putting on some music and laying on my bed and letting them run themselves out like letting a dog play until it’s tired enough to go to sleep.

T3:20- I become very reflective and introspective- I have been reading through the document where I record every trip I have ever had- each entry a numbered use of the substance and a brief description of the set and  circumstances of the trip. It’s a wonderful little record of my entire adult life and I reminisce on the experiences as I read each one, piecing together larger structures and information about my life as I want, noticing patterns and trends in my usage. The dancing chasing creatures of my brain have calmed down and I’ve wrangled them into serving me, the pistons of my mental machine working seamlessly and efficiently now.
Visuals have simmered down to a mere adornment at this point, colorful flashing vines draped on a great temple, gentle and not choking. I smoke some more weed. A friend starts talking to me about fighting and stuff, everything they are saying seems profound and distinct. Every word a hard hitting truth, a thrust through my chest with a neon lance. I just want to talk and read and think, everything has settled into place so nicely.

T5:40- I’ve showered and lounged around my room and talked to friends and drifted around my room a bunch. I’ve been on a gradual comedown, the colors draining from my line of sight, sneaking out as subtle flashes and glimmers. My thoughts are warm and gentle, no longer racing or intensely assertive as before- just matter of fact, warm and cogent. I feel good, not a chemical euphoria but a calm and stalwart self-assuredness and confidence. My chest is a hearth where a cozy fire burns out. The intense stimulation and nausea have passed at this point and I just feel awake and alert.

T7:00- Back to baseline by now, only stoned. Go to sleep.

Conclusion: 4-HO-MiPT is a chemical I have oft revisited. It carries a gripping bodyload on the comeup, a turbulent ascent, but it quickly levels off in a delightful cognitive thunderstorm. The visuals are typically reminiscent of lifeforms blossoming and spreading, fronds and feathers and webs ad scallops and radiant forms, pulsing with greenish colors. This chemical has an essence of fire and life in it, it excites instinct and taps into something primal within the mind, processing things matter-of-factly to allow the body to lucidly navigate its environment. I’ve found it makes thoughts coherent, active, and articulate, particularly on the comedown, and has therapeutic potential in that regard. The overall feel of it is warm and stimulating, mischievous and playful. This is a good drug for doing things outside, long walks or hiking or climbing or exploring. It is stark and direct, stern like the sun beating down on a summer day and grounded with a tense energy like the trees and the millions of things living among their roots. 4-HO-MiPT is an insect that flits around the brain, lighting up neurons and sending showers of radiant unfurling sparks into the darkness.

Music That I Like

Because I am unemployed and self isolating into the indefinite future and now have a lot of time on my hands here is the sorta music I like, in case anyone was curious lol. It's across a bunch of genres. Most of this I don't specifically listen to *while* tripping- when I am in the throes of it I can only handle music without vocals, and when I am really in the depths of things I can really only handle ambient or drone or minimalist stuff. But here is what I like to listen to as I go about my day to day life, say being alone in my room for hours on end now surrounded by fruit flies and trying to practice in melee. Don't expect too much meaningful research in this time, I've mostly run out of new things to test again and am awash in grim news. I can at least work on the backlog of reports I need to write from experiences before this cursed time.

1B-LSD

Age: 24

Weight: 125 lbs

Dosage: 175 ug sublingual

Setting: Around the suburbs

T0:00- Take my dose. I am about to go meet up with my best friend. It’s an unseasonably warm and sunny day. I am going to enjoy it by following him around as he works walking dogs for different people around the suburbs.

T0:36- En route to the first house. I am feeling a little bit of something, no bodyload which is usually the first note, but a sense of weightlessness and unease. Colors are starting to look brighter as it creeps up on me.

T1:00- We are walking the first two dogs now, one is a big hyperactive puppy, the other is an old melty dog who seems to want nothing more than to exist peaceably. The puppy dances around me and jumps onto my leg as the sunlight catches his fur and butters him with radiant warmth. His compatriot trudges onwards, eyes on the prize. The sun, the glorious sun, it beams down on us as we walk, tickling away the vestiges of the previous day’s rain, glinting on what water has not yet retreated to the atmosphere. We walk along the wet street under the morning sky, chatting and joking, I look like a grimy degenerate, he looks like a very nice boy, but everyone looks nice in full morning sun. Everything is getting warmer, my body, the air around me, it's all heating up, it's all cooking. I pry my eyes into the sky and into the road and bushes to see if I can tease out visuals but they refuse to make themselves known, it’s still the sense of heat waves passing over my brain and sweeps of electric pulses down my muscles and a stirring in my gut that lets me know I am on the comeup. Every color looks brighter. Every light looks washed out. The sounds of children playing at recess at a nearby school flit through the air like javelins. We reach the end of the walk and make our way back. The sky sighs and surrenders itself to the visuals I had been longing for. Deep breaths, each exhale glowing like bellows breathing into embers, light teal and pink glow and sizzle at the edges of vast sweeping and swirling blocks and patterns in the cloudless blue above. But it is still glassy, gentle, and unintrusive. The vast pillar of the visible light spectrum hammers the earth and my prismatic eyes begin to pick it apart into its color spectrum- my skin flashing purple here, the bushes taking on a blue hue over there. Bright red and orange crack the sky like lightning, on this quiet cloudless day pockmarked by birdsongs. All around me colors are shuffling, morphing and fusing into their neighbors on the spectrum. The nausea starts to set into my stomach and I am glad to return to the car where I can sit down and curl up. The puppy is still full of vigor and the old dog is still full of wanting to go home, they regard me as a passing curiosity before continuing on with their busy fruitful lives in the sun.

T1:30- We drive to the second house- perched at the top of a valley with steep wooded sides that filter the golden sunlight into an iridescent bronze that settles in its creeks and crevasses. He ascends a steep driveway to retrieve the dog (I am of course, not permitted to go in or near the houses of his clients), an excitable set of jaws with a furry body attached. This dog loves to look to us for approval before demonstrating his mighty mighty teeth. The sun reflecting off the wet asphalt is blinding and the corners of my vision are beginning to stir and blur together into a dense root-tangle of patterns drawn from my surroundings. Cool colors dominate this trip, with patches of my visual field being overtaken by shifting fields and blocks of deep blues and vibrant teals and magentas and violets and creamy greens. The visuals are still not distinct or intrusive, but are an adornment of the beautiful forested valley around me, like extra flowers blossoming prematurely on this unseasonably warm winter day. The wind rustles through their bare branches and pulls swatches of colors with it like spilling a glass of water onto a watercolor painting. I return to my friend’s car and kick back and take stock of what I’m feeling- my brain is warm, stimulated, it feels like its frying and sizzling in the sun as it climbs towards its midday apex. I am viewing the world through spangled rippled glass, each distortion catching the ambient light at different angles, embedding this world in a vast tangle of air-clear pleochroic crystals that pass gently around me as we drive. I see swirling violet patterns on my skin, very little of the familiar fractals and geometry other psychedelics might imbue, but rather it seems that this one flushes the world with vibrant color and lets their streams knit together and coalesce into a grand breathing shifted polychrome extravaganza. It’s such a beautiful sunny day.

T2:00- I am sitting in my friend’s car. The peak is battering me with glorious crystalline light. I feel the full force of a trillion photons streaming into my face, of my nerves sensing the light, the warmth that they impart, and passing that message through the rest of my body. I am a great glowing colossus of flesh with constant internal motion, highways and subways and hyperspeed rails tracing efficient paths through me to ensure function, all glowing, all sizzling with energy. I feel like my organ systems have been separated into discrete sensations and I am loving every second of it. The sunlight splatters on the windshield and diffracts into a spectrum of brilliant colors that splash and splinter onto everything around me before slinking away into whatever shadows they can find. I am under a stained glass cascade that dyes the world around me into something more vibrant and beautiful than I could ever imagine. The trees are a lovely magenta hue, the crevasses of their bark guarded by bulwarks of brusque deep turquoise. Aside from all the color shifts the visuals are still fairly subdued, not much geometry to speak of just vibrant color shifts. My friend comes to retrieve me. This dog is like a loaf of bread, she is very polite and I get a sense that this walk is her giving me a tour of her route. I am grateful for her guidance. The trees shift and swirl around me, with the same subtlety one would observe a line of ants traversing their surface. Every passerby is alien, vaguely threatening but not worth my anxiety.

T2:30- We are done with dogs for the day. We drive around for a bit before arriving at a dam on the river, an overgrown concrete monolith that languishes in the sun and the trash in the water that gushes through it. Being the passenger in a vehicle is exhilarating, I myself feel like a dog, wanting to take in every sight and sense and sound that pass us by. I want to stick my head out the window and take in all of this information that is passing me by so quickly- I don’t fret at not being able to take it all in though, I just revel the power of this furious high speed cascade of sensory information. I find solace in thinking about how much of this world there was, so many little details and cracks and crevasses, plants growing on sidewalks and paint splatters and stains on buildings and leaves on trees and all the little things in the windows of people’s houses, and how it’s okay that I don’t know about them right now, they would always be there for me to explore.
The world streams around me gently as we disembark from the car and make our way down to the dam. Conversation flows and chatter bounces around like little birds. Visuals are subdued and mostly come in as color shifts and barely discernible drifts in texture. The power of the sun stains the sky with a geodesic stratosphere. I am cooking in the vibrating, bubbling tension of the world. We trudge through mud and clamber around collapsing structures encrusted with a dense ecosystem of graffiti, pulsing vibrant epiphytes on the crumbling stone

T3:00- We climb down to the base of the dam where there is a little beach being blasted by the glory of the sun. The light is so bright and intense that I feel like I should be able to hear it, the sound of vibrating glass lasers through the sky. We engage with our environment physically (of note- my friend has been sober this entire time), skipping stones, throwing rocks into the water, swinging sticks around. We smash things and break things and collide things with one another. Its visceral and juvenile and feels so good to exert myself with no purpose. Nothing is a waste so long as my body is in motion. I smoke some cannabis from my one hitter as I romp around, laughing and joking with my dear friend. The visuals have settled into the background as a subtle bas-relief, manifesting as iridescent sheens and flashes on all the dazzling plays of light around me. Everything looks stark, monolithic aesthetic contrast, the sharp blasted gray of the dam plastered onto the dense azure jelly of the sky, with quivering bubbling breathing writhing tree branches cooking their way into its margins, the color of acorns and cold chocolate. Every element of the visual field just wants to strut and yell.

T3:30- Another good and old friend has joined us, descending from the top of dam. He asks if I’m making a fire. I wasn’t planning on it but I do pride myself on my ability to make and tend to a fire. I am so hyped up now, I have a mission, I quickly and manically hew out a pit for a fire, gather tinder, kindling, and wood, and get a nice campfire going in a few minutes (even though it wasn’t even cold outside). I make a fan from a plastic bag stretched across a Y-shaped branch that lets me fan the flames to build them nice and hot. It feels nice to do something with competence, it feels so nice to accomplish a goal. I fee like I am baking in my sense of accomplishment, along with baking in the fire and sun. I feel good about myself, I feel good about being a being running around in the sun right now making the most of a beautiful day. Like the luckiest critter on earth, like a bear in a lake of honey. My friend offers me his cannabis oil vaporizer which I repeatedly hit. Each hit feels like blowing onto a fire, the visuals flare for a bit and gently trace their way out of my vision. The smoke from the fire is noticeably iridescent, an aethereal fairy mist over the trash and rubble strewn around the bank.
We decide to head back home to meet with another good friend. I wrestle with my first friend, it was extremely fun to physically exert myself on a warm day. It felt like being a teenager and skipping school, nostalgic euphoria washed over me.
We drive back through an extremely tight and hilly and fast part of the city, it is an intense experience (especially because I had gotten in a car accident myself a few days before), rife with visible tension between the forces at work. Everything zips by as the sun crawls lower into the sky. I get a call from a mental health treatment program asking if I would like to participate in a study. I am able to hold a coherent and effective and articulate conversation with a complete stranger through a phone. In general I have felt very lucid throughout this entire experience.

T5:30- After some shuffling around we end up back at my house. First there is just me and another friend, we hang out and play with my cats for a while. Interacting with dear pets while tripping is a lovely experience, and it feels like they are even more affectionate. Time passes, there are four of us now, some of my oldest and closest friends, we are playing videogames and hanging out smoking a lot of weed. I am certainly coming down, the visuals are all but a memory at this point. Upon smoking copious weed however, the trip climbs back out of its hole. Odd physical dissociative sensations give a warm solidity to my skull and scramble some proprioception. Visuals timidly flash as a newfound glittering energy rises through me. This wears off after about an hour. Sometimes with psychedelics, the comedown has me feeling more articulate and capable and confident than I am when sober. Other times (perhaps with excess cannabis consumption), I feel blank, dumb, locked into whatever sensory blips I can still discern. I definitely feel this way now, mostly at a loss for words, only able to focus on the very neutral feeling of something baking in my skull, radiating gentle fading colors. Time passes into stoniness.

T8:00- One friend leaves, the rest of us go to the grocery store to get snacks. I felt like I was mostly down but being thrown into a whole new environment seems to kick things up again, though just a little bit. The grocery store is colorful and overwhelming and disorienting and it feels like the store is flowing and moving around me. The walk home is jovial and I find myself more and more sociable. We get back to my house and watch Nacho Libre, which is a very odd movie. After watching the first episode of the Dark Crystal, my friends leave, I am alone.

T13:00- I am mostly just stoned now. I smoke more and hang out watching TV for a while more before passing into sleep without issue.

Conclusion: This is another one theorized to be a prodrug to LSD, as are most lysergamides it seems. Yet this one seems to have stood out in several ways- Firstly, the visuals- most lysergamides carry a distinct class of visual for me, reminiscent of art produced by indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest and Mesoamerica. This is typically replete with glyphs, animal figures, pareidolia, and stark well-defined patterns. These sorts of visuals were entirely absent for this trip, with the visual aspect mostly manifesting as alterations- shifts in colors and textures and the general aesthetic composition and contrast of my visual field. It altered my input rather than producing new images. It was also remarkably lucid, I found myself for the most part functional and discrete. Yet I wouldn’t attribute the light visuals and lucidity to a low dose- cognitively this substance dogged me with energy and light, it was thoroughly engaging and introspective, articulate and holistic, often in a way that is typically accompanied with stronger sensory effects. In similarities to other lysergamides, it had fairly standard duration, potency, bodyload, and stimulation. Definitely had distinct lysergamide qualities in the psychosomatic feel of it. The overall attributes of the trip I would describe as lucidity, with light overall visuals mostly built of alterations, but with an underlying cognitive intensity and depth that makes for a truly profound, though not necessarily intense, experience.

BOD

Age: 24
Weight: 130 lbs
Dosage: 25 mg oral in gel cap
Setting: My friend’s house

T0:00 – Take my dose. I am at my best friend’s family house in the suburbs, with another dear friend and longtime partner in crime. Both people have lived with me in the past and have been involved in many of my psychedelic shenanigans. One of them is on a dose of 4-AcO-DMT and another on 4-AcO-MET. We’re hanging out in the living room playing video games.

T0:45- I’m feeling a bit buzzy and nauseous, sailing just a little bit but the winds are warm and gentle. I feel slightly euphoric and stimulated.

T1:25- We’re laughing and joking, being social with people I am so comfortable and familiar with feels so nice. I feel stimmy and nauseous and tense, fairly standard for a phenethylamine comeup. It’s so cold outside and I can feel chills coursing through me. I smoke some weed to take the edge off of the developing bodyload.

T1:45- Laughing a lot, uncontrollably at times even. It feels so nice to laugh, it feels so nice to feel happy. I feel like there are rocket boosters starting to ignite in me but I will not take off or go anywhere, I am quite content to keep restlessly sitting in this comfy chair. No position feels quite right though, and a discomfort grows in my stomach. I feel so elated and jovial nonetheless.

T2:00- Open eyed visuals are starting to set in, as flashes of color in the white space on my computer. They don’t seem to follow any discernible lines or patterns beyond the contours of other objects on the screen. They are slight, burned in ever so slightly like a light toast. We tried to play a badly glitching copy of Mario Party 4 on an old console with a very new TV. Something along the chain didn’t cooperate, the game was in black and white and would lag and freeze a lot, the music occasionally distorting. The entire experience was colored and overshadowed by an eerie discomfort. For a while the menu music continued against a frozen screen, it seemed to carry its own creepy sentience, a ghost mocking us from the digital realm. We eventually gave up.

T2:45- The experience is leveling off now. The visuals haven’t built up much more, they will occasionally flash in and then disappear. They are timid and seem unsure of whether or not they themselves should be here. With my eyes closed there is not much to note either, just waves and pulses in dull colors.
The chills have faded to a grand rising rippling heat, it feels the way a boiling hot radiator feels on a snowy day, incredibly radiant, wet (I’m mildly sweaty), but not necessarily luminous or fiery. It’s like my body is a great big furnace. The heat energizes me, I feel so restless and I want to get up and do things and move around. Despite this visceral urge, I cannot come up with any particular reason to get up and do things, and all I could do really is pace around the house, so I just sit still and fidget. It feels spacy, not like I am spaced out, but like there is a huge empty volume to this trip. I feel like my mind is a child running around in a big empty room- a lot of energy to let out and nowhere for it to go, or no way for it to really affect the space around it. My thoughts are articulate and succinct, when I talk I feel like I am direct and to the point and earnest. It is pleasant to feel this way.
The bodyload continues, the same tension, restlessness, and nausea. Now an irritating urinary retention has set in too, a recurring side effect from phenethylamines. I constantly feel like I have to go but I can’t, and flushing myself with water doesn’t seem to do much. I am continuously hitting my Cannabis one hitter in hopes of abating some of these discomforts. Each hit feels like blowing on hot coals, they make the trip breathe and glow and emit more heat, it makes the visuals shine for a bit before they fade into the background again.

T3:30- The trip burns and sizzles as the peak lingers, like a hot ember sitting on my skin. My one friend who loves comic books shows me some of the ones he brought and explains to me what he likes about them. It’s so fun to listen to him talk about something that he loves and it was really cool to engage in this media with him as a sort of guide, it fostered a newfound appreciation, particularly as I don’t read western comics much. The pages were not adorned with distinct visuals but it seemed as if the craftsmanship and composition behind the art particularly stood out. This feels like a psychedelic stimulant, not necessarily a “roll” though, with no empathogenic effects to note. Rather, it seems to shine most in the range of its cognitive effects, it feels as if the things I am engaging with are imprinting deeply on my memory like a brand. I send out long overdue correspondences with people online and read through forum posts about research chemicals. The things I type out feel articulate and salient, and it feels exciting to engage with people so far away.
I spend a lot of time just sitting there petting my friend’s dog. It’s so nice to interact with this big mammal and have an animal respond positively to my presence. I find myself pondering how pleasant so many little things I take for granted are.
The urinary retention has become particularly marked as the other sides of the bodyload have receded. I find myself frequently having to get up and go and there is a persistent ache and itching tension in my lower abdomen, it is fairly unpleasant. My bladder feels like a weight that the rest of my body strains to hold in place.

T5:00- Another friend has arrived, he isn’t tripping though he just smokes weed. The trip is definitely on the downturn now but I haven’t really noticed a remarkable comedown. It is like the trip is sneaking out the back door. Socializing is warm and buzzy and fun, I’m laughing a lot.
We decide to kick off a 50 round game of Mario Party 6. This is grueling but also enjoyable, it fuels me with euphoria like a fresh rocket booster. Visuals have mostly died out by this point, just faint play and bright colors on the walls. The overall sense of internal dynamism and heat also plays on into the cold winter night.

T7:30- I feel like the comedown has leveled off. The trip is certainly still there, and smoking more weed feels more like stoking the coals than just transitioning into being stoned. We play a different game now, and my one friend who was tripping has left. We hang out long into the night chatting and joking and enjoying each other’s presence. I still feel very warm inside too. The urinary retention persists, and the irritation of it has crept to the forefront of my thoughts.

T10:00- I leave and wait for the trolley home. It is very cold outside, but I mostly feel fine, aside from my extremities. There is definite heat still rising through me. When the trolley comes I feel hot and flustered, the cognitive afterburn of the trip continues, miraculously almost at the same level as a few hours ago. It seems to have a very drawn out comedown. This makes the ride home more entertaining, though the station closest to my house is closed and I have to walk a good bit to finally get home. The internal warmth was truly a blessing here.

T12:00- I’ve been at home in my warm room smoking more weed. At this point the trip has mostly slipped away and I’m just regular stoned. The urinary retention still persists though.

T13:00- Go to sleep without issue. Physical side effects have mostly subsisted by the next day and are entirely gone by midafternoon.

Conclusion: This is an excellent psychedelic for socializing in any setting, it would be a lovely party drug but was also excellent for just lounging around with some very close friends. It would probably be very boring to take by myself. It is very hot and filled with energy, it’s a big furnace inside my body with infinite space for the heat to dissipate, it’s intrinsic energy bolting in every direction just for the sheer joy of it. It lends itself to articulate conversation and thought, not particularly introspective but rather it allows for a similar degree of careful analysis of the external experience. The comedown is a long, drawn out and stimulating psychedelic afterglow on the tails of a relatively short and manageable peak. The cognitive effects were strong, while most sensory effects were nondescript or hardly noticeable. Very unremarkable open eyed or closed eyed visuals, though they were definitely there they were subtle and escaped attention. The major drawback was the intensely uncomfortable urinary retention that persisted well after most other effects had subsided, even into the next day. Urinary retention is a fairly standard side effect of psychedelic phenethylamines for me, but this time was remarkably more uncomfortable than others (though not nearly as bad as 2C-iP was).
